Description
The BBT-179 is made from precision-machined 4140 steel and is a high-performance tool for removing and installing selected threaded bottom brackets with 12-point tool bit sockets, including SRAM® BSA DUB®, Race Face® Cinch®, Rotor® BSA30 and others. The BBT-179 is designed to be compatible with any bottom bracket that has the corresponding tool socket. It features an extra-deep body for extra-wide spindles and flat walls at the engagement point for recessed retaining rings. The BBT-179 has three methods for locking the tool in place – a 3/8" drive socket, a 1" hex socket and 36 mm key flats –, so you can loosen even the most seized bottom bracket housings. For additional stability, the BBT-179 has integrated threads for use with the Park Tool BBT-RS bottom bracket tool holding system or GPS-1 guide pins (each sold separately).
